Can I burst crackers at midnight on 31 December?
Where it is allowed, new year bursting is usually limited to a short window around midnight, and the Puducherry Police and the Puducherry Pollution Control Committee issue their own directions. Check the current notification before you buy.
Can I take crackers to the promenade on New Year's Eve?
Do not. The beach road is packed with people that night and the police manage the crowd closely. Celebrate at home and walk down afterwards.
How late can I order in December?
By the middle of December. Transport slows in Christmas week, and parcels to Pondicherry take 1 to 2 days even when the roads are quiet.
